Worlds TES Minimum Update

With the Junior Grand Prix over and on the eve of the Grand Prix series, several new skaters have met the TES minimum for Worlds.  A good number of these skaters are not eligible to compete at Worlds due to age requirements but most of the senior events are still to come so this will change in the coming weeks.

Men
Men must have a 65 TES in the free skate as well as a 35 TES in the short program to be eligible to compete at Worlds.

For the U.S., Richard Dornbush, Armin Mahbanoozadeh, Nathan Chen and Keegan Messing have all met the minimum score bringing the total number of eligible skaters to 11 (although Chen is not old enough to compete at Worlds).

China qualified Boyang Jin (although he is not age eligible for Worlds) and Maxim Kovtun of Russia also met the minimum score.

Ladies
Ladies must have a minimum of 48 TES in the free skate and 28 TES in the short program to compete at Worlds.

The Russians added Elena Radionova, Uliana Titushkina, Evgenia Gerasimova and Anna Pogorilaya (although none of them are old enough to compete at Worlds).

Leah Keiser, Barbie Long, Hannah Miller and Angela Wang from the U.S. all met the minimum score (although Keiser is not old enough to compete at Worlds) bringing the number of eligible skaters from the U.S. to 12.

For Japan, Rika Hongo and Miyabi Oba met the minimum score required bringing the total number of Japanese women eligible to nine.

Kiira Korpi of Finland earned the minimum score as did Nathalie Weinzierl of Germany

Pairs
Pair teams must meet the minimum scores of 45 TES in the free skate and 28 TES in the short program to be eligible for Worlds.

Only two new pairs teams have earned the minimum score needed for Worlds.  Fedorova and Moroshkin of Russia became the seventh Russian team eligible to compete at Worlds.  Jones and Beharry of Canada are in bringing the number of Canadian pairs eligible to five.

Dance
Dance teams must score at least 39 TES in the free dance and 29 TES in the short dance to compete at Worlds.

Zenkova and Sinitsin were the lone new Russian team to qualify for Worlds but became the 9th team with eligible scores.

Paul/Islam, Gilles/Poirier and Edwards/Pang of Canada met the minimum score needed giving Canada six teams eligible for Worlds.

Chock/Bates, Kriengkrairut/Giuletti-Schmitt, Parsons/Parsons and McNamara/Carpenter all met the minimum qualifying score but Parsons/Parsons and McNamara/Carpenter are not age eligible to compete at Worlds so the U.S. only has six teams eligible to compete.

Sforza and Fioretti also met the minimum scores, becoming the fourth Italian team to do so.

Ukraine had two teams meet the minimum requirements: Frolenkova/Nikiforov and Heekin-Canedy/Dun.

  1. Thanks!

Just one comment: Lina Fedorova's partner is Maxim Miroshkin (not Moroshkin)

    Moroshkin is ice-dancer http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00012770.htm
