Sectionals Recap 11/13

Junior Ladies--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Mary Beth Marley: Marley finished 4th in the free skate with 76.77 points and 4th overall with 119.23 points.  She executed a double axel, triple loop, triple lutz, single flip-double toe, double toe-double toe, triple lutz (fall), and triple toe (downgraded).  She received Level 3 on her layback spin and changefoot combination spin.

Courtney Hicks, Katarina Kulgeyko, and Polina Edmunds qualified to nationals with Marley.

Senior Ladies--Eastern Sectionals
Samantha Cesario finished 1st in the free skate with 92.21 points and 1st overall with 144.34 points.  She executed a triple flip-double toe-double loop, triple loop, triple lutz, triple flip (under-rotated), triple loop (under-rotated) and a double axel-double axel.  She received Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her flying sit spin.

Melissa Bulanhagui finished 2nd in the free skate with 83.59 points and 2nd overall with 127.95 points.  She executed Triple salchow, triple lutz, triple flip (under-rotated), triple salchow-double toe-double loop, triple lutz-double toe, single toe, double axel.  She received Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her step sequence and layback spin.  She received no credit for her final spin.

Kelsey Traunero finished 3rd in the free skate with 78.99 points and 3rd overall with 125.90 points.  She executed triple flip, triple salchow, triple toe (downgraded), double axel, triple salchow-double toe (downgraded), double axel-double toe (downgraded), double lutz-double loop.  She received Level 4 for her flying change foot combination spin, layback spin and change foot combination spin.  She had one deduction for a fall.

Joelle Forte: Forte finished 4th in the free skate with 77.21 points and 4th overall with 125.49 points.  She executed triple flip, triple lutz-double toe, triple salchow, double axel, triple lutz-double toe (both jumps under-rotated), triple toe (under-rotated), and triple salchow-double toe.  She received Level 4 on her flying sit spin.  She received one deduction for a fall.

Senior Ladies--Midwestern Sectionals
Alissa Czisny: Czisny finished 1st in the free skate with 104.47 points and 1st overall with 161.45 points.  She executed triple lutz-double toe, triple flip, triple toe, triple loop, double flip-double toe, double axel, double toe.  She received Level 4 on her spins and Level 3 on her step sequence.  She received two deductions for falls.

Morgan Bell finished 2nd in the free skate with 80.24 points and 2nd overall with 125.18 points.  She executed double axel, triple toe-double toe, double loop, triple salchow, double axel-double toe, triple salchow (downgraded) and triple toe.  She received Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her other elements.

Katy Jo West finished 4th in the free skate with 77.47 points and 3rd overall with 116.17 points.  She executed triple toe, double loop, double axel, double loop-double toe, double toe-double toe, double axel-double toe-double loop, double flip.  She received Level 3 on her change foot combination spin and step sequence.

Tatyana Khazova finished 7th in the free skate with 73.12 points and 4th overall with 114.86 points.  She executed triple loop, double axel, triple lutz-double toe-single loop (double downgraded), triple flip (under-rotated), double salchow-double toe, double lutz-double loop (under-rotated), double loop.  She received Level 3 on her layback spin and change foot combination spin.

Senior Ladies--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Vanessa Lam finished 1st in the free skate with 98.43 points and 1st overall with 148.47 points.  She executed triple lutz-double loop (downgraded), triple flip (under-rotated), triple toe, triple loop, double axel-double axel, triple lutz, and triple flip-double toe.  She received Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her other two spins.  She received two deductions for falls.

Danielle Kahle: Kahle finished 3rd in the free skate with 76.69 points and 2nd overall with 120.00 points.  She executed triple loop, triple toe, triple flip, double flip-double toe, double axel, triple loop, single axel.  She received Level 4 for her camel spin and Level 3 for her flying sit spin.  She received one deduction for a fall.

Keli Zhou: Zhou finished 2nd in the free skate with 79.66 points and 3rd overall with 118.82 points.  She executed double axel-double toe, triple salchow-double toe, double lutz, triple salchow, double flip, double axel, double lutz-double toe (under-rotated).  She received Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her other two spins.

Ellie Kawamura finished 4th in the free skate with 75.99 points and 4th overall with 115.95 points.  She executed triple toe, double axel-double toe, double loop, double lutz, popped an axel, double flip-double toe, and double lutz.  She received Level 4 for her flying sit spin and layback spin and Level 3 for her change foot combination spin.
Novice Men--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Nathan Chen finished 1st in the free skate with 97.59 points and 1st overall with 140.88 points.  He executed a double axel-double loop-double loop, triple lutz-double toe, triple flip, triple lutz, triple salchow, triple toe (fall), and triple salchow-double toe.  He received Level 3s on all his spins.

Nix Phengsy, Spencer Howe, and Codero Zuckerman also qualified to nationals.

Junior Men--Eastern Sectionals
Emmanuel Savary: Savary placed 2nd in the free skate with 111.54 points and 3rd overall with 161.09 points.  He executed a double axel, triple flip-triple toe, triple lutz, triple loop (under-rotated and a fall), double axel, triple flip-double toe-double loop, triple toe-double toe and a triple salchow.  He received Level 4 on his change foot combination spin and Level 3 on his other two spins. 

Timothy Dolensky: Dolensky placed 5th in the free skate with 94.84 points and 5th overall with 143.63 points.  He executed a double axel, triple lutz, triple flip (fall), single flip-double axel (intended triple-double), triple loop, double salchow (intended triple), triple loop-double toe-double toe, triple toe (downgraded).  He received Level 4 for his flying combination spin and Level 3 for his step sequence and change foot combination spin.

Alexander Zahradnicek, Alexander Aiken and Harrison Choate qualified to nationals with Emmanuel Savary.

Senior Men--Midwestern Sectionals
Jason Brown finished 1st in the free skate with 134.62 points and 1st overall with 197.98 points.  He executed double axel, triple lutz-triple toe, triple flip, triple loop, double flip-double axel, triple lutz, triple flip-double toe-single loop and triple salchow.  He received Level 4 on his change foot sit spin, change foot combination spin and fly change foot combination spin and Level 3 on his step sequence.

Grant Hochstein finished 2nd in the free skate with 130.52 points and 2nd overall with 191.22 points.  He executed triple flip, triple axel, double axel, triple loop, triple lutz-double toe, triple lutz, triple salchow, triple flip-double toe-double loop.  He received Level 4 on his change foot combination spin and flying sit spin and Level 3 on his step sequence and camel spin.

Parker Pennington finished 4th in the free skate with 116.56 points and 3rd overall with 176.26 points.  He executed triple axel, triple loop, double axel-triple toe, triple salchow, triple flip (under-rotated), triple lutz-double toe-double loop, triple lutz, triple flip-double toe.  He received Level 4 on his change foot sit spin and Level 3 on his other spins.  He had one deduction for a fall.

Alexander Johnson finished 5th in the free skate with 112.38 points and 4th overall with 176.26 points.  He executed triple axel (downgraded), double axel-double toe, triple lutz, triple loop, triple flip-double toe, triple lutz-double toe, single salchow, triple flip.  He received Level 4 for his change foot combination spin and camel spin and Level 3 for his step sequence and flying sit spin.  He received one deduction for a fall.

Senior Men--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Jonathan Cassar finished 1st in the free skate with 123.55 points and 1st overall with 184.66 points.  He executed triple lutz-double toe, double flip, double axel, triple salchow, triple lutz (under-rotated), triple loop-double toe, triple loop, and double axel-double toe-double toe.  He received Level 4 for his camel and sit spins and Level 3 for his step sequence and change foot combination spin.

Christopher Caluza: Caluza finished 2nd in the free skate with 120.97 points and 2nd overall with 178.19 points.  He executed Triple lutz-triple loop, triple toe, double axel, triple salchow, triple loop-double toe-double loop, triple flip, triple lutz, and double axel-double toe.  He received Level 3 for his change foot combination spin.

Andrew Gonzales: Gonzales finished 3rd in the free skate with 119.34 points and 3rd overall with 178.05 points.  He executed triple flip-triple toe, double axel, triple loop (under-rotated), triple lutz-double toe-double loop, triple flip, triple lutz (under-rotated), double axel, triple salchow.  He received Level 4 on his sit spin and camel spin and Level 3 on his step sequence and change foot combination spin.

Sean Rabbitt: Rabbitt finished 4th in the free skate with 116.04 points and 4th overall with 170.70 points.  He executed triple lutz-triple toe, triple salchow-triple toe, double flip, triple loop, triple flip, double axel-double toe-double toe, and double axel.  He received Level 4 on his combination spin and sit spin and Level 3 on his step sequence.
Junior Ice Dance--Eastern Sectionals
Lauri Bonacorsi/Travis Mager: They placed 1st in the free dance with 70.35 points and 1st overall with 119.86 points.  They received Level 4 on their combination spin, twizzle, curve lift, rotational lift and straight line lift.  They received Level 3 on both of their step sequences.  They received no negative GOEs.

Anastasia Cannuscio/Colin McManus: They placed 2nd in the free dance with 69.08 points and 2nd overall with 118.78 points.  They received Level 4 on both their rotational lifts and combination spin and level 3 on their twizzle and both step sequences.  They received no negative GOEs.

Danvi Pham/Vu Pham: They placed 4th in the free dance with 51.56 points and 4th overall with 93.21 points.  They received Level 4 for their rotational lift and curve lift and Level 3 for their twizzles.

Danielle Gamelin and Alexander Gamelin also qualified to nationals.

Junior Dance--Midwestern Sectionals
Anastasia Olson/Jordan Cowan: They finished 1st in the free dance with 73.39 points and 1st overall with 122.09 points.   They received Level 4 on their rotational lift, curve lift, spin, twizzle and straight line lift and Level 3 on their step sequences.  They received no negative GOEs.
 
Alexandra Aldridge/Daniel Eaton: They finished 2nd in the free dance with 67.61 points and 2nd overall with 119.03 points.  They received Level 4 on their straight line lift, twizzle, curve lift, rotational lift and spin.  They received no negative GOEs.

Heather Buckner/Nicholas Taylor and Carina Gilastris/Kevin Allison also qualified to nationals.

Junior Dance--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Joyln Yang/Jean-Luc Baker: They finished 1st in the free dance with 74.37 points and 1st overall with 127.11 points.  They received Level 4s on their spin and all three lifts and Level 3 on their twizzles and step sequences.  They received no negative GOEs.

Lorraine McNamara/Quinn Carpenter, Madeline Heritage/Nathaniel Fast, and Natalie Wojton/Michael Soyfer also qualified to nationals.

Senior Ice Dance--Eastern Sectionals
Ginna Hoptman/Pavel Filchenkov: They finished 1st in the free dance with 66.63 points and 1st overall with 111.73 points.  They received Level 4 for their twizzles, rotational lift, straight line lift, spin, and rotational lift and Level 3 for their diagonal step sequence.

Meredith Zuber/Kyle Herring: They finished 2nd in the free dance with 65.80 points and 2nd overall with 109.21 points.  They received Level 4 on their twizzle, straight line lift, combination lift, curve lift, and rotational lift.  They received Level 3 on their diagonal step sequence.  They received no negative GOEs.

Katharine Zeigler/Baxter Burbank: They finished 3rd in the free dance with 63.36 points and 3rd overall with 104.98 points.  They received Level 4 for their twizzles, curve lift, serpentine lift and rotational lift.  They received Level 3 for their spin.  They received no negative GOEs.

Katherine Pilgrim/Alexander Lorello: They finished 4th in the free dance with 50.51 points and 4th overall with 82.42 points.  They received Level 4 on their combination lift, rotational lift, straight line lift and Level 3 on their spin. 

Senior Dance--Midwestern Sectionals
Shannon Wingle/Timothy McKernan finished 1st in the free dance with 73.16 points and 1st overall with 127.43 points.  They received Level 4 on their curve lift, straight line lift, twizzle and spin and Level 3 on their circular step sequence.  They received no negative GOEs.

Alissandra Aronow/Zachary Donohue finished 2nd in the free dance with 68.81 points and 2nd overall with 109.80 points.  They received Level 4 on their straight line lift, twizzle, curve lift and rotational lift and Level 3 on the spin and circular step sequence. 

Kseniya Ponomaryova/Raphael Kelling finished 3rd in the free dance with 36.05 points and 3rd overall with 70.07 points.  They received Level 3 for their straight line lift.  They had one deduction for a fall and one for costume violation.

Junior Pairs--Midwestern Sectionals
Andrea Poapst/Christopher Knierim finished 1st in the free skate with 83.84 points and 1st overall with 125.12 points.  They executed a triple twist, double axel, throw triple salchow, single flip, and throw double toe.  They received Level 4 on their group 5 lift, group 3 lift and both spins.

Cassie Andrews/Timothy LeDuc, Olivia Oltmanns/Joshua Santillan, and Vladyslava Rybka/Matthew Blackmer also qualified for nationals.

Junior Pairs--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Jessica Nicole Calalang/Zack Sidhu: They finished 2nd in the free skate with 79.44 points and 2nd overall with 123.63 points.  They executed a double axel, double twist, double flip-double toe, throw double toe, and throw double flip.  They received Level 4 on their pair spin.

Brynn Carman/AJ Reiss: They finished 3rd in the free skate with 75.23 points and 3rd overall with 116.90 points.  They executed a triple twist, throw double salchow, double loop, throw double flip, double flip-single toe.  They received a Level 4 on their combination spin and Level 3 on their group 3 lift.

Mandy Garza/Brandon Frazier and Christina Guerres/Justin Schumann also qualified to nationals.

Senior Pairs--Eastern Sectionals
Erika Smith/Nathan Bartholomay: They finished 2nd in the free skate with 88.50 points and 1st overall with 140.87 points.  They executed a double twist, throw triple loop, double axel (fall), throw triple salchow, double flip-double toe (downgraded).  They received Level 4 on their group 3 lift and Level 3 on their group 5 lift.

Chloe Katz/Joseph Lynch: They finished 1st in the free skate with 92.39 points and 2nd overall with 140.22 points.  They executed double twist, throw triple loop, triple toe (downgraded), single axel-double toe (intended double-double), throw triple salchow.  They received Level 4 on their group 3 lift, combination spn, and pair spin and Level 3 on their group 5 step in lasso lift.

Alexa Scimeca/Ivan Dmitrov: They finished 3rd in the free skate with 48.02 points and 3rd overall with 88.93 points.  They executed double twist, throw triple salchow, triple salchow (intended triple-double), double axel, and throw double lutz.  They received Level 4 on their group 4 lift and combination spin.  They had 5 deductions for falls and received no credit for 3 of their elements.

Gretchen Donlan/Andrew Speroff: They again did not execute their program due to his injury but will still qualify to nationals with a total schore of 6.42.

Senior Pairs--Midwestern Sectionals
Molly Aaron/Daniyel Cohen: They finished 1st in the free skate with 92.84 points and 1st overall with 139.10 points.  They executed a triple twist, throw triple loop, triple toe, double axel, throw triple toe.  They received Level 4 for both group 5 lifts and group 3 lift and Level 3 for both spins.  They received one deduction for a fall.

Becky Bereswill/Trevor Young: They finished 2nd in the free skate with 87.16 points and 2nd overall with 136.40 points.  They executed double axel-double toe, single toe, double twist, throw triple salchow, throw double flip.  They received Level 4 for their group 5 lift and pair combination spin and Level 3 for their spins.

Lisa Moore/Justin Gaurmond: They finished 3rd in the free skate with 78.69 points and 3rd overall with 121.77 points.  They executed triple twist, throw double loop, double lutz-double toe, double lutz, throw triple salchow.  They received Level 4 for their spins, group 3 lift and both group 5 lifts and Level 3 for their pair spin.  They received two deductions for falls.

Sectionals Recap 11/12

Junior Ladies--Midwestern Sectionals
Nina Jiang placed 3rd in the free skate with 81.33 points and 3rd overall with 126.11 points.  She executed a triple toe (fall), double axel-double toe, single loop (intended triple), triple loop-single toe (intended triple-double), triple salchow, triple toe (under-rotated and intended triple-double-double) and a double axel.  Two of her spins were Level 4 and her step sequence and layback spin were Level 3. 

Ashley Cain: Cain finished 5th in the free skate with 79.16 points and 4th overall with 122.36 points.  She executed a triple lutz, double axel, triple loop (under-rotated), double flip (intended triple), triple toe (downgraded), triple-salchow-double toe (triple downgraded), double axel-double toe-double loop.  She received a Level 4 on her flying sit spin and Level 3 on the other elements.

Gracie Gold: Gold finished 6th in the free skate with 75.55 points and 6th overall with 116.07 points.  She executed a double axel-triple toe, triple loop, triple lutz, triple flip, triple flip-double toe, triple lutz (intended triple-double-double).  She had one invalid jump combination.  She received a Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her flying sit spin.  She had three deductions for falls.

Lauren Dinh and McKinzie Daniels finished 1st and 2nd and qualified for nationals with Jiang and Cain.

Senior Ladies--Eastern Sectionals
Samantha Cesario: Cesario is in 1st place after the short program with 52.13 points.  She executed a triple lutz-double toe, triple flip and double axel.  She received Level 4 on two of her spins.

Joelle Forte: Forte is in 2nd place after the short program with 48.28 points.  She executed triple lutz-double toe, triple salchow, double axel.  She received Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her step sequence. 

Kelsey Traunero: Traunero is in 3rd place after the short program with 46.91 points.  She executed triple flip, triple salchow-double toe (triple under rotated) and double axel.  She received Level 4 for all her spins and Level 3 for her step sequence.

Melissa Bulanhagui: Bulanhagui is in 4th place after the short program with 44.36 points.  She executed triple flip-double toe, single lutz (intended triple) and a double axel.  She received Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her other two spins.

Raina Narita: Narita is in 5th place after the short program with 44.05 points.  She executed triple toe, triple lutz-double toe and double axel.  She received Level 3 on her flying sit spin. 

Keilani-Lyn Rudderham: Rudderham is in 6th place after the short program with 41.66 points.  She executed double axel, double lutz-double loop (intended triple-double), and double flip.  She received Level 4 on two of her spins and Level 3 on her step sequence and layback spin.

Kendall Wyckoff: Wyckoff is in 7th place after the short program with 38.35 points.  She executed triple salchow (under rotated), double toe-double toe (intended triple-double) and double axel.  She received Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and Level 3 on her flying sit spin.

Jamie Kim: Kim is in 8th place after the short program with 37.18 points.  She executed double axel, triple salchow-double toe (triple under-rotated), and triple toe (downgraded).  She received Level 4 for two of her spins and Level 3 for her step sequence.  She did not receive credit for her flying sit spin.

Olivia Gibbons: Gibbons is in 9th place after the short program with 32.88 points.  She executed double axel (downgraded), double flip, and double lutz-double loop.  She received Level 4 on two of her spins and Level 3 on her step sequence.  She had one deduction for a fall.

Krista Bussi: Bussi is in 10th place after the short program with 30.04 points.  She executed double salchow (downgraded and intended triple-double), triple toe (downgraded) and double axel.  She received Level 3 on two of her spins.

Taryn Brandt is in 11th place and Courtney Bibbs is in 12th place.

Junior Men--Eastern Sectionals
Emmanuel Savary is in 4th place after the short program with 49.55 points.  He executed a double axel, triple flip-triple toe, and a triple loop (under-rotated).  He received Level 3s on all his spins.

Timothy Dolensky is in 5th place after the short program with 48.79 points.  He executed a triple loop, triple flip-double toe, and a double axel.  He received Level 4s on both of his change foot spins.

Senior Men--Eastern Sectionals
Scott Dyer: Dyer is in 1st place after the short program with 64.95 points.  He executed a triple lutz-double toe (intended triple-triple), double axel and triple loop.  He received Level 4 on all his spins and Level 3 on the step sequence. 

Jason Wong: Wong is in 2nd place after the short program with 55.29 points.  He executed a triple salchow-double toe (intended triple-triple), triple axel (under-rotated and a fall) and triple loop.  He received a Level 4 on two spins and Level 3 on the step sequence and flying sit spin.

Christopher Wan: Wan is in 3rd place after the short program with 49.59 points.  He executed a double axel, triple lutz-double toe, and triple flip.  He received Level 3 on his flying camel spin and sit sequence.  He had no negative GOE.

Wesley Campbell: Campbell is in 4th place after the short program with 49.35 points.  He executed triple lutz-triple toe (under-rotated), double axel (intended triple) and triple flip.  He received Level 3 on all his spins.  He had one deduction for a fall and one for time violation.

Michael Chau: Chau is in 5th place after the short program with 47.59 points.  He executed double axel (intended triple), triple loop-double toe (intended triple-triple), and double lutz (intended triple).  He received Level 4 for his change foot combination spin and Level 3 for his step sequence and flying sit spin.

Lloyd Ting: Ting is in 6th place after the short program with 47.35 points.  He executed double axel, triple lutz (intended triple-triple and a fall), and triple flip.  He received Level 4 on both his change foot spins.

Brad Vigorito: Vigorito is in 7th place after the short program with 46.80 points.  He executed double axel, triple flip-double toe, and triple loop.  He received Level 4 on his change foot sit spin and Level 3 on his flying camel spin.

Michael Quadrino: Quadrino is in 8th place after the short program with 45.87 points.  He executed triple salchow-double toe, triple toe, double axel.  He received Level 4 on his change foot sit spin.

Senior Pairs--Eastern Sectionals
Erika Smith/Nathan Bartholomay: They are in 1st place after the short program with 52.37 points.  They executed a double axel, throw triple loop and a double twist.  They received Level 3 on their lift, step sequence and spin.  They received no negative GOEs.

Chloe Katz/Joseph Lynch: They are in 2nd place after the short program with 47.83 points.  They executed a double twist, a triple toe (under-rotated and a fall), and a throw triple loop.  They received a Level 4 on their lift and spin and Level 3 on their step sequence.

Alexa Scimeca/Ivan Dmitrov: They are in 3rd place after the short program with 40.91 points.  They executed a double twist, throw triple salchow, and triple salchow.  They received Level 3s on their step sequence and spin.

Gretchan Donlan/Andrew Speroff: They are in 4th place after the short program with 1.20 points.  They did not compete due to his injury, but as all four teams will qualify to nationals they had to step on the ice to officially compete and qualify.   

Junior Dance--Eastern Sectionals
Anastasia Cannuscio/Colin McManus: They are in 1st place after the short dance with a score of 49.70.  They received a Level 4 on their rotational lift and Level 3s on their twizzles and the first sequence of the Viennese Waltz.  They received no negative GOEs.

Lauri Bonascori/Travis Mager: They are in 2nd place after the short dance with a score of 49.51.  They received a Level 4 for the first section of the Viennese Waltz and for their curve lift and Level 3s for the 2nd VW sequence and the step sequence.

Danvi Pham/Vu Pham: They are in 4th place after the short dance with a score of 41.65.  They received a Level 4 on their rotational lift and a Level 3 on both sequences of the Viennese Waltz.

Junior Dance--Midwestern Sectionals
Alexandra Aldridge/Daniel Eaton: They are in 1st place after the short dance with 51.42 points.  They received Level 4s on their twizzles, 1st sequence of Viennese Waltz, and rotational lift.  They received a Level 3 on the 2nd sequence of their Viennese Waltz.  They received no negative GOEs.

Anastasia Olson/Jordan Cowan: They are in 2nd place after the short dance with 48.70 points.  They received Level 4s on their lift and twizzles and Level 3 on the step sequence.  They received no negative GOEs.
Senior Dance--Eastern Sectionals
Ginna Hoptman/Pavel Filchenkov: They are in 1st place after the short dance with 45.10 points.  They received a Level 4 on their twizzles and rotational lift and a Level 3 on the 1st section of the Golden Waltz.

Meredith Zuber/Kyle Herring; They are in 2nd place after the short dance with 43.41 points.  They received Level 4s on their lift and twizzles and Level 3 on the first section of the Golden Waltz.

Katharine Ziegler/Baxter Burbank: They are in 3rd place after the short dance with 41.62 points.  They received Level 4s on their twizzles and lift and Level 3 on the first section of the Golden Waltz.
Katherine Pilgrim/Alexander Lorello: They are in 4th place after the short dance with 31.91 points.  They received a Level 4 on their lift.

Senior Dance--Midwestern Sectionals
Shannon Wingle/Timothy McKernan: They are in 1st place after the short dance with 54.27 points.  They received Level 4s on their twizzle and lift and the second section of the Golden Waltz and Level 3 on their other elements.  They received no negative GOEs.

Allisandra Aronow/Zachary Donohue: They are in 2nd place after the short dance with 40.99 points.  They received Level 4 on their rotational lift and Level 3s on their twizzle and the second section of the Golden Waltz.

Kseniya Ponomaryova/Raphael Kelling: They are in 3rd place after the short dance with 34.02 points.  They received Level 4 on their lift.

Sectionals Recap 11/11

Junior Pairs-Eastern Sectionals
Kylie Duarte/Colin Grafton placed 2nd in the short program with 42.42 points.  They executed a double twist, double axels, and a throw double toe loop.  Their spins received a level 4.  They placed 2nd in the Free Skate with a score of 77.23 and finished 2nd overall with a total score of 119.65.  They executed a double twist, triple salchow, throw triple salchow, and a double axel (without the intended 3 jump combo).  They received a Level 3 and a Level 4 on their spins.

Haven Denney/Daniel Raad placed 5th in the short program with 38.33 points.  They executed a double twist, double axels and a throw triple toe loop which was downgraded.  They placed 1st in the free program with 77.39 points and finished in 3rd place overall with 115.72 points.  They executed a triple twist, a double axel (without the intended combo), a throw triple loop, double salchow (intended triple) and a throw triple salchow.  They received a Level 4 on their pair spin and Level 3 on two of their lifts. 

Junior Pairs--Midwestern Sectionals
Andrea Poapst/Christopher Knierim sit in 2nd place following the short program with 41.28 points.  They executed a double twist, double axel, and throw triple toe loop.  They had one deduction for a fall on the throw toe.   

Junior Pairs--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Jessica Noelle Calalang/Zack Sidhu: Calalang and Sidhu sit in 1st place after the short program with a score of 44.19.  They executed a double axel, double twist, and throw double toe.  They received a Level 3 on their step sequence and their spin.

Brynn Carman/AJ Reiss: Carman and Reiss sit in 3rd place after the short program with a score of 41.67.  They executed a double twist, double loop, and throw double toe.  They received a Level 4 on their lift and spin and a Level 3 on their step sequence.

Senior Pairs--Midwestern Sectionals
Becky Bereswill/Trevor Young sit in 1st place following the short program with 49.24 points.  They executed triple toes, double twist, and a throw triple salchow.  They received level 3s on 3 of their elements.  Only their throw salchow had a negative GOE.

Molly Aaron/Daniyel Cohen sit in 2nd place following the short program with 46.26 points.  They executed a triple twist, throw triple toe, and a double toe loop.  They received two level 4s and one level 3.  They received one deduction for a fall.

Lisa Moore/Justin Gaumond sit in 3rd place following the short program with 43.08 points.  They executed a triple twist, throw triple salchow, and double lutz.  They received a Level 4 and two Level 3s.  They had one deduction for a fall on their throw salchow.

Mary Beth Marley: Marley sits in 4th place following the short program with 42.46 points.  She executed a triple lutz (intended triple-double), triple loop and a double axel.  She received a Level 4 on her layback spin and a Level 3 on all other elements.  She received one deduction for a fall.

Leah Keiser: Keiser sits in 5th place following the short program with 41.58 points.  She executed a triple lutz (intended triple-double), single loop (intended triple) and a double axel.  She received a Level 4 for her layback and change foot combination spin and a Level 3 for her other two elements.

Junior Ladies--Midwestern Sectionals
Nina Jiang sits in 2nd place after the short program with 44.78 points.  She executed a triple loop (under-rotated and a fall), triple toe-double toe, and a double axel.  She received a Level 4 on her layback spin and a level 3 on all other elements. 

Ashley Cain sits in 3rd place after the short program with 43.20 points.  She executed a single lutz-double toe (intended triple-double), triple loop, and a double axel.  She received a Level 4 on two elements and a Level 3 on the remaining two elements. 

Gracie Gold sits in 6th place after the short program with 40.52 points.  She executed a single axel (intended double) triple lutz (intended triple-triple combo) and a triple loop.  She received a Level 4 on all her spins and a Level 3 on her step sequence.

Alissa Czisny: Czisny sits in 1st place after the short program with a score of 56.98.  She executed a triple flip-double toe, triple flip (downgraded and a fall), and a double axel.  She received a Level 4 on all her spins.

Morgan Bell: Bell sits in 2nd place after the short program with a score of 44.94.  She executed a double axel, triple toe-double toe and a single salchow (intended triple).  She received a Level 4 on her change-foot combination spin and a Level 3 on her other two spins. 

Tatyana Khazova: Khazova sits in 3rd place after the short program with a score of 41.74.  She executed a triple loop, double axel (fall) and a triple lutz-double toe.  She received a Level 3 on her change foot combination spin. 

Chelsea Christopher: Christopher sits in 4th place after the short program with a score of 40.68.  She executed a triple lutz-double toe (intended triple-triple), single flip (intended triple) and a double axel.  She received a Level 4 on her flying sit spin and a Level 3 on her change foot combination spin.  She had a 1 point deduction for a time violation.

Katy Jo West: West sits in 5th place after the short program with a score of 38.70.  She executed a double axel, triple salchow (downgraded) and a triple toe-double toe.  She received a Level 4 on her change foot combination spin and a Level 3 on her flying sit spin.  She had one deduction for a fall.

Christina-Maria Sperduto: Sperduto sits in 6th place after the short program with a score of 37.48.  She executed a triple salchow, triple toe-double toe (triple downgraded) and a double axel (under-roated and a fall).  She received a Level 4 on her flying sit spin and a Level 3 on her other two spins.   

Kayla Grayson: Grayson sits in 7th place after the short program with a score of 37.28.  She executed a double axel, triple salchow (intended triple-double) and a triple toe loop.  She received a Level 4 for her change foot combination spin and a Level 3 on her step sequence and flying camel spin.

Taylor Kulpa: Kulpa sits in 8th place after the short program with a score of 36.88.  She executed a triple toe-double toe (triple under-rotated), double salchow (intended triple) and a double axel (under-rotated).  She received a Level 4 on her layback spin and a Level 3 on her other elements.

Samiera Abou-Nasr: Abou-Nasr sits in 9th place after the short program with a score of 35.60.  She executed a double axel, triple loop (downgraded) and a triple salchow-double toe (triple downgraded).  She received a Level 4 on all her spins.

Alicia Hsu: Hsu sits in 10th place after the short program with a score of 35.26.  She executed a double axel, triple loop (downgraded), and a double lutz-double toe (intended triple-double).  She received a Level 3 on all her spins.

Amy Nunn sits in 11th, Chelsea Morrow sits in 12th, Amber Walczyk sits in 13th and Mikenenzie Frost sits in 14th place.

Senior Ladies--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Vanessa Lam: Lam is in 1st place after the short program with a score of 53.64.  She executed a double axel, triple lutz-double loop, and a triple flip.  She received a Level 3 on two of her spins and her step sequence.

Danielle Kahle: Kahle is in 2nd place after the short program with a score of 43.41.  She executed a triple flip (fall), triple loop-double loop, and a double axel.  She received a Level 3 on her flying camel and change foot combination spin.

Ellie Kawamura: Kawamura is in 3rd place after the short program with a score of 39.96.  She executed a triple lutz-double toe, double axel and a double lutz (intended triple).  She received a Level 4 on two of her elements and a level 3 on the other two elements. 

Carolyn-Ann Alba: Alba is in 4th place after the short program with a score of 39.24.  She executed triple salchow-double toe, triple toe and a double axel (under-rotated).  She received a Level 3 on two of her spins and her step sequence.
 
Keli Zhou: Zhou is in 5th place after the short program with a score of 39.16.  She executed a triple loop (under-rotated and a fall), triple salchow-double toe and a double axel.  She received a Level 4 on her layback spin and a Level 3 on her change-foot combination spin.

Karen Zhou: Zhou is in 6th place after the short program with a score of 36.33.  She executed a triple lutz-single toe (triple under-rotated and intended triple-double), triple flip (downgraded) and double axel.  She received a Level 4 on her flying sit spin and Level 3 on her change foot combination spin and step sequence.  She received one deduction for a fall.

Sophia Adams: Adams in in 7th place after the short program with a score of 32.09.  She executed a triple salchow (intended triple-double and a fall), single axel (intended double) and triple loop (downgraded).  She received a Level 4 for her change foot combination spin and a Level 3 for her step sequence and flying camel spin.  She received two deductions for falls. 

Kristina Struthwolf: Struthwolf is in 8th place after the short program with a score of 32.03.  She executed a triple salchow (downgraded), double axel (downgraded) and a double flip-double loop (intended triple-double).  She receieved a Level 4 for her change foot combination spin and a Level 3 for her flying sit spin.  She received one deduction for a fall.

Samantha David: David is in 9th place after the short program with a score of 30.97.  She executed a double axel, double flip-double toe and a double lutz (intended triple).  She received a Level 3 on her change foot combination spin.  She received one deduction for a fall.

Alyona Bilash: Bilash is in 10th place after the short program with a score of 30.28.  She executed a double toe-double toe (intended triple-double), double salchow (intended triple and downgraded) and single axel (intended double).  She received a Level 4 on her flying sit spin and a Level 3 on her change foot combnation spin and step sequence. 

Laura Lipetski is in 11th, Sarah Gonzales is in 12th, Olivia Olsen is in 13th and Jacquelyn Garces is in 14th place.

Novice Men--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Nathan Chen: Chen sits in 1st place after the short program with a score of 43.29.  He executed a double axel, triple toe, and triple lutz (under-rotated and intended triple-double).  He received a Level 4 on his camel spin and change foot combination spin.

Senior Men--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Jonathan Cassar sits in first place after the short program with 61.11 points.  He executed a triple lutz-double toe (planned triple-triple), double axel, and triple loop.  He received Level 4 on three elements and Level 3 on one element and received no negative grades of execution. 

Austin Kanallakan sits in 2nd place after the short program with 58.86 points.  He executed a single axel (planned triple), triple flip-triple toe, and triple lutz.  He received Level 4 on one element and Level 3 on two elements.

Andrew Gonzales sits in 3rd place after the short program with 58.71 points.  He executed a triple flip-triple toe (triple toe under-roated), double axel and triple lutz.  He received two Level 4s and two Level 3s. 

Christopher Caluza sits in 4th place after the short program with 57.22 points.  He executed a triple lutz-triple toe, triple flip and double axel.  He received a Level 4 on two elements and a Level 3 on one element. 

Sean Rabbitt sits in 5th place after the short program with 54.66 points.  He executed a triple lutz-triple toe (under-rotated), triple flip and single axel (planned double).  He received a Level 4 on two elements and a level 3 on two elements. 

Robert Przepioski sits in 6th place after the short program with 35.99 points.  He executed a triple salchow, triple toeloop (downgraded and without planned combo) and a double axel. 

Marvin Au sits in 7th place after the short program with 32.08 points.  He executed a double axel, triple lutz (without the intended combo and with a fall), and a single flip (intended triple).  He received no credit for his change foot combination spin. 

Ben Blandford sits in 8th place after the short program with 24.36 points.  He executed a triple toe loop (intended combo), single salchow-single toe (intended triple), and a single axel (intended double).  He received a level 4 for one of his elements.  Two of his three spins received no points.

Grant Hochstein: Hochstein sits in 3rd place after the short program with a score of 60.70.  He executed a triple lutz-triple toe, triple axel (fall) and triple flip.  He received Level 4 on his spins and a Level 3 for his step sequence.

Parker Pennington: Pennington sits in 4th place after the short program with a score of 59.70.  He executed a single axel (intended triple), triple lutz-triple toe and triple flip.  He received a Level 4 on two spins and a Level 3 on his flying camel spin and step sequence.

William Brewster: Brewster sits in 5th place after the short program with a score of 48.26.  He executed a triple lutz (intended triple-triple), double axel and triple loop.  He received a Level 4 on his change foot combination spin and a Level 3 on his change foot sit spin and step sequence.

Christopher Darling: Darling sits in 6th place after the short program with a score of 47.69.  He executed a triple toe-double toe, triple salchow and a double axel.  He received a Level 4 on his change foot combination spin and a Level 3 his flying sit spin and step sequence.

Roger Corvasce: Corvasce sits in 7th place after the short program with a score of 43.28.  He executed a triple axel (under-rotated and fall), triple lutz-double toe (intended triple-triple) and triple flip (under rotated and fall). 

Paul Wood: Wood sits in 8th place after the short program with a score of 42.86.  He executed a triple lutz-double toe, double axel and single flip (intended triple).  He received a Level 3 on his two spins and the 3rd spin was invalid.

Osadolo Irowa: Irowa sits in 9th place after the short program with a score of 42.74.  He executed a triple flip-triple toe (downgraded), triple axel (downgraded) and a triple lutz.  He received a Level 4 on his change foot combination spin and a Level 3 on his other spin and step sequence.  He received no credit for his change foot sit spin. 

Justin Brachat: Brachat sits in 10th place after the short program with a score of 31.01.  He executed a double axel, double lutz (downgraded and intended triple-double) and a single flip (intended triple).  He received a Level 4 for his change foot sit spin and his last spin was invalid and received no credit.

Junior Dance--Pacific Coast Sectionals
Joylyn Yang/Jean-Luc Baker sit in 1st place following the short dance with 52.74 points.  They received a Level 4 on the second half of their Viennese Waltz and a Level 3 on all other elements.  They only received a negative GOE on their twizzles.

US Eastern Sectional Championships

Sectional Championships get underway this week and the top four in each discipline from each sectional will qualify to the 2011 US National Championships in North Carolina.  Several skaters have byes due to their placements last season at nationals or international competition and I'll list them in a separate post. 

For seniors, I have listed all of the competitors in each discipline.  Where information is available about the skater/team, I have included it.  I'll work to fill in the gaps throughout the week and if you have information on any of these skaters feel free to leave a comment.  For juniors, I have listed names of skaters/teams that stuck out either due to their placements at nationals last season or international experience this season.

Senior Pairs (all qualify to nationals):
Chloe Katz/Joseph Lynch: They won silver at this sectional last year and placed 6th at nationals, their best finish.  They have made 4 trips to nationals at the senior level.  They are the 2005 Junior Bronze medalists.

Erika Smith/Nathan Bartholomay: They won gold at Sectionals as juniors last year and they are the reigning Junior Bronze medalists. 

Gretchen Donlan/Andrew Speroff: They won silver at the midwestern sectionals last year and placed 8th as juniors at nationals.  They attended the Nebelhorn Trophy earlier this season and placed 4th.  This is their second season together.

Brad Vigorito:

Scott Dyer: Dyer qualified with a 2nd place finish at South Atlantic Regionals with a score of 168.24.  He won silver at sectionals and the pewter medal at nationals last season as a Junior.  He is the 2006 and 2007 National Novice pewter medalist. 

Wesley Campbell: He won silver at midwestern sectionals last season and placed 20th at nationals.  His best finish at nationals was in 2008 when he placed 7th.  He is the 2004 National Junior Bronze Medalist.  He is the 2002 National Novice Pewter Medalist.  He has one Junior Grand Prix medal, a silver, from 2002.

Christopher Wan: Wan qualified with a 3rd place finish at North Atlantic Regionals with a score of 119.49.

Jason Wong: He won silver at sectionals last season and placed 10th at nationals, his best finish.  Earlier this season he placed 8th at the Nebelhorn Trophy.  He is the 2008 and 2009 US Collegiate Champion.  He is the 2004 National Junior Silver Medalist.  He is the 2002 National Novice Silver Medalist.     

Michael Quadrino: Quadrino qualified with a 2nd place finish at North Atlantic Regionals with a score of 128.35.

Michael Chau: Chau qualified with a 3rd place finish at South Atlantic Regionals with a score of 131.96.  He is the 2009 National Junior Champion, 2008 National Junior Silver Medalist, 2007 National Novice Champion, and 2006 National Novice Bronze Medalist in Pairs with Tracy Tanovich.

Lloyd Ting: Ting qualified with a 1st place finish at North Atlantic Regionals with a score of 144.93.

Senior Ladies:
Taryn Brandt: Brandt qualified with a 4th place finish at New England Regionals with a score of 93.66.

Jamie Kim: Kim qualifed with a 4th place finish at South Atlantic Regionals with a score of 114.09.

Keilani-Lyn Rudderham: Rudderham qualified with a first place finish at New England Regionals with a score of 101.12.

Courtney Bibbs: Bibbs qualified with a 5th place finish at South Atlantic Regionals (2nd place finisher Musademba received a bye through Sectionals due to Cup of China) with a score of 99.65.

Olivia Gibbons: Gibbons qualified with a 3rd place finish at New England Regionals with a score of 95.87.  She is the 2009 National Junior Novice Bronze Medalist in Pairs with Tyler Harris. 

Krista Bussi: Bussi qualified with a 4th place finish at North Atlantic Regionals with a score of 97.56.

Kelsey Traunero: Traunero qualified with a 3rd place finish at South Atlantic Regionals with a score of 111.93.

Joelle Forte:  Forte qualified with a 2nd place finish at North Atlantic Regionals with a score of 128.00.  She won this sectional on route to a 12th place finish at nationals in 2009.  She did not compete for the United States last season.

Melissa Bulanhagui: Bulanhagui qualified with a 1st place finish at South Atlantic Regionals with a score of 130.21.  She placed 2nd at sectionals last season before placing 12th at Nationals.  She competed at Nebelhorn Trophy earlier this season and won bronze.  She is the 2006 National Junior Bronze Medalist.  She won a gold medal on the Junior Grand Prix in 2008 and a silver in 2006. 

Kendall Wyckoff: Wyckoff qualified with a 2nd place finish at New England Regionals with a score of 96.85.  She won silver on the junior level at sectionals last season before placing 11th at nationals. 

Raina Narita: Narita qualified with a 3rd place finish at the North Atlantic Regionals with a score of 104.42.

Samantha Cesario: Cesario qualified for sectionals with a 1st place finish at the North Atlantic Regionals with a score of 135.68.  She won bronze at sectionals last season and placed 14th at nationals.

Emmanuel Savary: Savary qualified with a 3rd place finish at South Atlantic Regionals with a score of 157.41.  He won silver at sectionals as a novice last season and is the reigning Novice National Silver Medalist.  He is the 2009 Intermediate National Champion. 

Timothy Dolensky: Dolensky qualified with a 4th place finish at South Atlantic Regionals with a score of 144.43.  He won sectionals last season as a novice before winning bronze at nationals.  He finished 4th at his Junior Grand Prix assignment earlier this season. 

Junior Dance of note:
Danvi Pham/Vu Pham: They won sectionals last season as novices before winning silver at nationals.  They are the 2009 Intermediate National Silver Medalists and the 2008 Juvenile National Silver Medalists. 

Anastasia Cannuscio/Colin McManus: They won sectionals last season before placing 7th at nationals.  They placed 2nd and 4th at their two Junior Grand Prix assignments earlier this season.

Laura Bonacorsi/Travis Mager: They placed 2nd at sections last season before placing 6th at nationals.  They finished 3rd and 5th at their two Junior Grand Prix assignments earlier this season.  They are the 2009 Novice National Champions.
